A print of “Tama River in Musashi Province” by Katsushika Hokusai on your wall
A broad sheet of water in shades of Prussian blue, a boat, a rider and a white Fuji floating above the mist - Tama River in Musashi Province is the essence of Japanese calm. This Japanese woodblock print by Hokusai suits a bedroom, a bathroom with a window or a Scandinavian-style living room where whites, cool greys and pale wood dominate. The expansive composition positively asks for a horizontal format above a sofa or bed, and as panoramic wallpaper it creates the illusion of a view through a window. A Tama River print on Dibond preserves the subtlety of the gradients, while 5 mm acrylic glass gives the water an almost glass-like transparency. Hokusai wall art for people seeking tranquillity and elegance without loud colours. You enter the size yourself in the artMonte configurator - we fit the print to any wall.

Tama River in Musashi Province
About the artwork
A rider with a horse laden with packs pauses on the bank of the Tama River, along which a lone ferryman's boat glides. A band of dense mist separates the valley from the snow-capped peak of Fuji, which seems to float in the air. The woodblock print from the series Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji, published around 1830-1832, stands out for its broad expanse of blue water, enlivened by the delicate drawing of the waves. It is one of the most harmonious landscapes in the series, in which Hokusai builds the mood through economy of means and a refined use of blue.
