Dibond 3 mm

Dibond is the standard in galleries and museums. Two aluminium sheets bonded to a polyethylene core form a panel that is perfectly flat, rigid and surprisingly light - a 100 × 150 cm picture weighs just a few kilograms. The matt white surface takes UV printing with deep blacks and saturated colours and no reflections, so the artwork looks just as good in daylight as it does in the evening.

Dibond is resistant to moisture, UV radiation and temperature changes - it works in the living room, kitchen and bathroom, and even on the terrace. The edges are smoothly milled, so the picture needs no frame; it hangs on hidden standoffs or a rail (fixings are bought separately), so that it “floats” a few millimetres off the wall. It is the choice for those who want an exhibition feel at home.

Who it is for

Dibond is the choice of galleries, museums and interior architects because it gives the most “museum-like” effect: a perfectly flat, matte, frameless panel that seems to float on the wall. It is the best material for large formats - 100 × 150 cm and beyond - and for works with deep blacks and subtle tonal transitions: Friedrich's landscapes, Rembrandt's portraits, Whistler's nocturnes. It works in the living room, bedroom, study and hotel lobby, and outdoors under cover.

Hanging and care

Dibond is hung on an aluminium spacer rail (formats over 60 cm) or on spacer blocks that hold the picture about 2 cm off the wall and create a floating shadow effect - one or two hooks in the wall are all you need. Mounting hardware is not included with the print: you buy the spacers, rail and hooks separately, at any DIY store. Clean the surface with a soft, slightly damp cloth - no solvents or abrasives. The panel does not warp with humidity or changes in temperature.

Printing and durability

We print directly onto the white, matte surface of the panel with gallery-grade UV inks, from museum files of 3000-4000 px. The print resists fading, water and scratches in everyday use. Dibond 3 mm consists of two aluminium sheets with a polyethylene core: a 100 × 150 cm panel weighs just under 6 kg, yet is so rigid that it needs neither a frame nor a backing board.
