A print of “The Soul of the Rose” by John William Waterhouse on your wall
Brick in warm pink, a pale gown and a single flower in which a whole face hides - The Soul of the Rose is Waterhouse's most tender painting and one of the most intimate motifs in our range. The vertical crop means a print of The Soul of the Rose looks best in a bedroom above a bedside table, in a boudoir beside a mirror or in a beauty salon, where it speaks of care without words. It suits powder pinks, white and pale wood furniture, and interiors in the English and Provençal style. On Dibond the matt surface renders the delicacy of skin and petals; 5 mm acrylic glass adds the brilliance of morning to the scene. If you are looking for a romantic gift that will not be banal, wall art of a woman and a rose hits the mark. In the artMonte configurator you enter your own dimensions, even unusual ones, and we print for your wall.

The Soul of the Rose
About the artwork
A young woman in a blue gown closes her eyes and buries her face in the flower of a rose climbing a brick wall; a sunny garden looms in the background. Waterhouse painted the picture in 1908, taking the title from Tennyson's poem "Maud", in which the soul of the rose passes into the blood of the lover. The work, also known as My Sweet Rose, is among the artist's most lyrical and remains in a private collection, beyond the reach of museum galleries.
