A print of “Ophelia” by John Everett Millais on your wall
The green of willows and reeds, a silver pool and a pale face among flowers - Millais's Ophelia is a painting that hypnotises with its calm, though it tells of tragedy. A print of Ophelia suits botanical, boho and romantic interiors: a bedroom with linen bedding, a bathroom green with plants, a florist's studio or a boudoir-style dressing room. If you are looking for wall art in shades of green and emerald, it would be hard to find anything more beautiful. We recommend a horizontal crop in a wide format, which lets you read every flower painted with Pre-Raphaelite precision. On Dibond the juicy green looks deep and matt like the original canvas, and as wallpaper the composition will fill a whole wall with the murmur of the stream. In the artMonte configurator you give your own dimensions and we print exactly as much as your interior needs.

Ophelia
About the artwork
Ophelia from Hamlet floats on the water of a stream, her half-open lips frozen in song, and around her drift flowers of symbolic meaning: poppies, pansies, violets and daisies. Millais painted the landscape on the Hogsmill River in Surrey, and the figure was posed by Elizabeth Siddal lying in a bath of water. The canvas of 1851-1852 is a manifesto of the Pre-Raphaelites: meticulous botany, intense colours and a literary subject treated with photographic fidelity.
