A print of “The Blind Girl” by John Everett Millais on your wall
The lush green of a meadow after a storm, the orange of a shawl and a double rainbow above a small town - The Blind Girl is a painting about light that you feel on your skin. A print of Millais's The Blind Girl suits an English-style living room, a study with green walls and a leather armchair, a room in a boutique hotel in the countryside. The vertical crop looks best on the wall beside a window, so that natural light plays with the light in the painting, in the company of dark wood furniture, wool and linen. Dibond renders the matt texture of the meadow and fabrics almost like the original canvas; 5 mm acrylic glass adds the glassy shine after rain to the rainbow and the wet grass. This is wall art that carries a real story along with its beauty - a good gift for someone who loves Victorian painting. In the artMonte configurator you enter any dimension, and we print exactly for your wall.

The Blind Girl
About the artwork
A blind itinerant musician with a concertina on her lap and a sign reading "Pity the Blind" sits at the edge of a meadow, warming her face in the sun after a passing shower; a butterfly has settled on her shawl. Her younger companion turns towards a double rainbow that the elder girl will never see. Millais painted the landscape at Winchelsea in Sussex in 1854 and completed the whole in 1856; the picture won the Liverpool Academy prize in 1857. It belongs to Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery.
