A print of “Hylas and the Nymphs” by John William Waterhouse on your wall
The dark green of the pond, white water lilies and seven pale faces rising from the depths - Hylas and the Nymphs is a painting that catches the eye from afar. A print of Hylas and the Nymphs suits a classic-style bedroom, living rooms with green walls and dark furniture, and the spa areas of boutique hotels, where the motif of water is a natural choice. The horizontal crop, wider than it is tall, is best hung above a bed or a chest of drawers; on a large wall we recommend photo wallpaper, which turns the room into the forest pond from Waterhouse's painting. 5 mm acrylic glass gives the surface of the water real depth and sheen; Dibond holds the colours in matt, gallery-like discipline. As a poster in a beauty salon the painting builds an aura of calm and care. You enter any dimension in the artMonte configurator, and we fit the print to your wall.

Hylas and the Nymphs
About the artwork
Hylas, the young companion of Heracles on the voyage of the Argonauts, came for water and was surrounded by nymphs who emerge from among the water lilies to draw him into the depths. One of them already holds him by the arm. Waterhouse painted the scene in 1896, combining academic draughtsmanship with a Pre-Raphaelite sensitivity to detail and light. The painting, bought in the year of its creation by Manchester Art Gallery, is today one of the most frequently reproduced works of Victorian painting.
