A print of “View of Delft” by Johannes Vermeer on your wall
Heavy clouds, a band of sun on brick roofs and the mirror-like surface of the canal - View of Delft is a landscape that never grows tired. A print of View of Delft is the natural choice for interiors in the Scandinavian and Dutch spirit, for a dining room with pale oak, a study in shades of navy and grey, or an office reception where it is meant to bring calm and gravity. Vermeer built the picture wide, so we recommend a horizontal crop or a gentle panorama focused on the line of the quay, the boats and the church tower. Dibond emphasises the matt, stony colours of the walls and gives the effect of a museum presentation, while 5 mm acrylic glass brings out the depth of the water and the pearly Dutch light of the sky. You choose the dimensions yourself in the artMonte configurator and we prepare the print exactly for the spot you indicate.

About the artwork
Vermeer painted his home town from the south, from across the canal: brick walls, the Schiedam and Rotterdam Gates, roofs still in shadow and the tower of the Nieuwe Kerk lit by the sun. Above everything heavy clouds, below calm water with the reflections of boats. The painting of around 1660-1661 is one of only two townscapes by the artist; Marcel Proust called it the most beautiful painting in the world, and the famous "little patch of yellow wall" found its way into his novel.
