A print of “Cimabue's Celebrated Madonna” by Frederic Leighton on your wall
Five metres of procession, a riot of colourful robes against Florentine walls and a canopy above the Madonna - Leighton's painting is a true panorama, created with large walls in mind. A print of Cimabue's Celebrated Madonna works best as photo wallpaper: the procession then takes up the whole length of a corridor in a boutique hotel, the wall of a conference room or a classic-style dining room, and guests look at it like a fresco. In smaller formats we recommend a very wide panoramic crop above a sofa or a console table, surrounded by dark wood, gilded frames and fabrics in burgundy. On Dibond every detail of costume and architecture keeps its matt sharpness; on 5 mm acrylic glass the colours take on the depth of stained glass. This is wall art for lovers of Florence and the Renaissance. In the artMonte configurator you enter the width and height yourself - we print exactly for your wall.

Cimabue's Celebrated Madonna
About the artwork
Florentines in colourful dress carry a great altarpiece of the Madonna in solemn procession: the scene illustrates Vasari's story of Cimabue's triumph. The painter himself walks in white, the young Giotto beside him, and Dante stands at the right edge. Leighton painted this canvas of more than five metres in Rome in 1853-1855; at the Royal Academy exhibition of 1855 Queen Victoria bought it on the opening day. Today it belongs to the Royal Collection and is on loan to the National Gallery in London.
