A print of “Blue Horse I” by Franz Marc on your wall
A cobalt horse with bowed head, behind it hills in red, yellow and green spilling out like a colourful dream - Franz Marc's Blue Horse I is one of the most recognisable paintings of Expressionism. Blue Horse wall art feels at home in a bedroom or living room with dark wood furniture and navy fabrics, in a teenager's room where the animal becomes the hero of the space, and in a veterinary practice or waiting room that colour is meant to warm up. The original is vertical, so we suggest a vertical crop that emphasises the animal's slender silhouette. On Dibond the blue of the coat becomes matt and deep as velvet; on 5 mm acrylic glass it takes on a sheen and seems to glow from within. A print of Blue Horse I in the size you specify - the artMonte configurator accepts any dimensions, and we prepare the print exactly for your wall.

Blue Horse I
About the artwork
A young horse with a gleaming blue coat stands with its head bowed against hills in red, yellow and green; the animal's silhouette is simplified into soft, sculptural volumes. Franz Marc painted Blue Horse I in 1911, the year he founded the Der Blaue Reiter group together with Kandinsky. For the artist blue stood for the spiritual and masculine principle, yellow for gentleness and red for matter, so the colour of the animal is no accident. The painting belongs to the Lenbachhaus in Munich.
