A print of “Brita's Little Nap” by Carl Larsson on your wall
The bright, warm colours of watercolour, a clean line and the calm of a child's nap - Larsson's Brita's Little Nap is the painting from which the Swedish style of home decorating began. A Larsson print suits a child's room, a bedroom and a bright dining room with white walls, wooden furniture, gingham and green or red accents; in a paediatrician's surgery or a nursery school it builds a friendly, homely atmosphere. A poster in a horizontal crop, close to the proportions of the original watercolour, best renders the intimacy of the scene, and in a smaller format it also works in a frame on a chest of drawers. Dispa board is a light, eco-friendly medium ideal for a child's room, while Dibond emphasises the papery, matt character of the watercolour. In the artMonte configurator you set the dimensions yourself, and we print the Larsson painting exactly for your wall.

Brita's Little Nap
About the artwork
Little Brita, the artist's daughter born in 1893, has fallen asleep in one of the rooms of the house Lilla Hyttnäs in Sundborn, which the Larssons furnished to their own ideas. The watercolour of 1895 belongs to the cycle Ett hem (A Home), in which Larsson portrayed the everyday life of his family and the interiors of the house; 24 of the 26 works in the cycle were published in 1899 in a book that popularised the bright, colourful Swedish style of interiors. The original is kept in the Nationalmuseum in Stockholm.
