A print of “Yellow-Red-Blue” by Wassily Kandinsky on your wall
The left side glows lemon yellow, the middle is cut by a red cross and the right sinks into deep blue - Yellow-Red-Blue is a lesson in how primary colours lead the eye across a canvas. This Kandinsky painting works in a minimalist living room with white walls and an oak floor, in a study with black bookcases, and in the reception of a creative agency that needs one strong accent of colour. The horizontal format (the original has a proportion close to 2:3) looks best as a wide piece of wall art above a chest of drawers or a console table. Printing on 5 mm acrylic glass brings out the saturation of the red and the depth of the blue, while the PVC board version gives a light, economical print for an office. You choose the dimensions yourself: the artMonte configurator accepts any width and height, and the print reaches you in exactly that size.

Yellow-Red-Blue
About the artwork
The composition develops from left to right: from a bright yellow rectangle with fine lines, through a red cross in the centre, to a heavy, dark blue circle and an undulating black line on the right. The painting was made in 1925, when Kandinsky was teaching at the Bauhaus and putting in order his theory of colour and form, written down a year later in the book Point and Line to Plane. The title names the three primary colours that form the axis of the whole arrangement. The work is in the Centre Pompidou in Paris.
