A print of “Kajikazawa in Kai Province” by Katsushika Hokusai on your wall
Blue, mist and a single solitary figure - Kajikazawa is Hokusai in a minimalist version, ideal for interiors that value calm. A print of Kajikazawa in Kai Province works as wall art for a bedroom, study or relaxation area, and the cool palette of navy blues and greys pairs with white, pale oak and linen fabrics in the Japandi style. This Japanese woodblock print looks beautiful in a horizontal format above a bed or chest of drawers, but also takes enlargement to a full-wall panorama as wallpaper very well. On Dibond it preserves the matt, papery softness of the original, while 5 mm acrylic glass deepens the navy of the water and gives it a glassy depth. Hokusai wall art for lovers of silence and spare form. In the artMonte configurator you can enter any dimensions and we will print it exactly for your wall.

Kajikazawa in Kai Province
About the artwork
A lone fisherman stands on a rocky promontory and tightens his lines above the churning current of the Fuji River, while the boy accompanying him crouches close by. Above a band of mist rises the triangle of the sacred mountain, echoing the shape of the fisherman's figure. The woodblock print was made around 1830-1832 in the series Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji, and the earliest impressions were printed almost entirely in Prussian blue. It is one of Hokusai's most hushed and contemplative compositions, uniting everyday toil with the spiritual dimension of the landscape.
