A print of “The Sea at Satta in Suruga Province” by Utagawa Hiroshige on your wall
Love Hokusai's Great Wave but looking for something less obvious? The Sea at Satta is Hiroshige's answer to the famous motif - just as dynamic, yet more lyrical. The vertical composition with the wave, birds and Fuji in the background works as wall art for a living room, hallway or bathroom, and for a study with a nautical feel. Blues, turquoises and the white of foam suit coastal, Scandinavian and Japandi interiors with pale wood and linen. A print of The Sea at Satta looks great in a narrow, tall format, and as wallpaper it turns a wall into the force of the ocean. This Japanese woodblock print gains the depth and sheen of water on 5 mm acrylic glass, and a refined matt finish on Dibond. Hiroshige wall art for lovers of the sea. In the artMonte configurator you enter any dimensions and order a made-to-measure print.

The Sea at Satta in Suruga Province
About the artwork
A huge wave breaks against the rocky coast, its foaming fingers rising towards a sky through which birds fly. In the background, above the horizon, the snow-capped peak of Fuji calmly presides. The woodblock print in a vertical format belongs to the late series Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji, which Hiroshige created towards the end of his life, around 1858. The composition is a clear homage to Hokusai's The Great Wave off Kanagawa and at the same time a personal, more lyrical interpretation of it.
