A print of “Kambara: Night Snow” by Utagawa Hiroshige on your wall
Snow muffles every sound, and Hiroshige could convey that silence like no one else. Kambara: Night Snow is a Japanese woodblock print in an almost monochrome palette of white, grey and graphite, which is why it fits so perfectly into minimalist and Scandinavian interiors. This print is wall art for a bedroom, study or living room with cool colours, architectural concrete and black accessories. The horizontal format looks great above a bed, and as wallpaper the winter landscape becomes a calm backdrop for the whole room. Hiroshige wall art that works all year round, not just in winter. On Dibond the subtle gradients of the sky look as they do on the original paper, while 5 mm acrylic glass adds cool depth and elegance to the composition. In the artMonte configurator you enter any dimensions and order a print that is perfect for your interior.

Kambara: Night Snow
About the artwork
The village of Kambara, sunk in silence, is covered by a thick layer of snow, and a few travellers wade through the drifts, sheltering under umbrellas and straw raincoats. The grey, graded sky and the white of the roofs form an almost monochrome composition. The woodblock print from the series The Fifty-three Stations of the Tokaido, published around 1833-1834, is regarded as one of the masterpieces of the series. Curiously, snow very rarely falls in this coastal town, which shows that Hiroshige transformed reality in the name of mood and the poetry of the image.
