A print of “Snakeshead” by William Morris on your wall
Rhythmic, almost geometric - Snakeshead is Morris for those who prefer order to exuberance. This botanical pattern works superbly as wallpaper or patterned wallpaper in a hallway, dressing room, study and small bathroom, where the dense repeat visually orders the space. A Snakeshead print combines English style with a note of the Orient, so it suits classic and boho interiors alike. Deep reds, indigo and ochres pair well with teak, rattan, kilims and copper. William Morris wall art in a square crop makes a striking panel, and a series of several squares builds a gallery in the Arts and Crafts spirit. On Dibond the pattern looks like stretched fabric; on 5 mm acrylic glass it gains freshness of colour. Choose the dimensions in the artMonte configurator.

About the artwork
The pattern of 1876, block-printed on cotton, was made during William Morris's collaboration with the dyer Thomas Wardle in Leek. The motif refers to the flower of the snake's head fritillary, set against small stems in a regular, diagonal rhythm. Morris was at the time intensively studying natural dyes and old textiles, and the pattern betrays a fascination with the textiles of India and Persia. It is one of the artist's most graphic and compact designs.
