A print of “Rouen Cathedral, West Façade, Sunlight” by Claude Monet on your wall
Gothic seen through the eyes of an Impressionist - Rouen Cathedral in sunlight is a remarkable Claude Monet painting in which stone turns into light. The tall, vertical format means a print of Rouen Cathedral suits narrow walls, corridors, stairwells and spaces with high ceilings perfectly. Warm ochres, creams and blues pair well with classic interiors, with pale stone, travertine and beiges, and with elegant studies. The motif looks especially striking at large scale - as living room wall art or as tall wallpaper in a hall. Dibond renders the grainy texture of the paint in a refined, matt finish, 5 mm acrylic glass draws out the luminosity of the facade, and PVC board is a practical option for hotels and offices. Order any size in the artMonte configurator.

Rouen Cathedral, West Façade, Sunlight
About the artwork
The Gothic facade of Rouen Cathedral dissolves in golden and blue light, and the stone details turn into a dense, shimmering texture of paint. Monet painted the building between 1892 and 1894 from the windows of rented rooms opposite, creating a series of more than thirty canvases at different times of day and in different weather. The cycle shows that the subject of the painting is light itself, not the architecture. The series is among the most important achievements of Impressionism. This canvas is in the National Gallery of Art in Washington.
