A print of “Houses of Parliament, Sunset” by Claude Monet on your wall
Violet, pink and glowing orange - this is London seen through Monet's eyes. A print of Houses of Parliament, Sunset is wall art for those who love atmospheric, slightly blurred images and the warm light of evening. A Claude Monet painting from this series feels perfectly at home in a living room kept in greys, navy blues and off-white, and in a bedroom, where it brings the calm of dusk. In a study it adds class without overwhelming the room. The near-square proportions of the canvas allow you to choose a square crop or one gently widened towards a panorama. Printing on Dibond emphasises the matt softness of the mist, 5 mm acrylic glass gives the colours the depth and glow of the setting sun, and wallpaper turns an entire wall into the Thames embankment. In the artMonte configurator you enter any dimensions - the picture is printed exactly for your wall.

Houses of Parliament, Sunset
About the artwork
The Houses of Parliament on the Thames dissolve here in violet mist, and the setting sun breaks through the clouds as an orange patch reflected in the water. Monet painted this motif from the terrace of St Thomas' Hospital during his stays in London in 1900-1901, finishing the canvases later in his studio at Giverny. The Parliament series is one of the most important studies of light and atmosphere in the history of painting - in it architecture becomes merely a pretext for recording a fleeting moment.
