A print of “Composition II in Red, Blue and Yellow” by Piet Mondrian on your wall
Red, blue and yellow locked in a grid of black lines on a white ground - Mondrian's Composition II is abstraction reduced to pure balance, recognised at first glance. A Mondrian print is the natural choice for interiors in the spirit of the Bauhaus and Modernism: a white living room with chrome steel and black leather furniture, an architect's modern office, a flat in a loft building with concrete and glass, or a minimalist kitchen with white fronts. The original is square, so we recommend a 1:1 crop in a size of 60 to 120 cm, hung centrally above a chest of drawers or in a hallway. On Dibond the white and black gain a matt, graphic purity that underlines the architectural character of the composition; on 5 mm acrylic glass the primary colours take on depth and sheen. Mondrian wall art in a size matched to your space: in the artMonte configurator you give the dimensions and we print for that wall.

Composition II in Red, Blue and Yellow
About the artwork
Thick black lines divide the square canvas into rectangles: a great red square occupies the upper right part, a small blue one sits in the lower left corner and a touch of yellow in the lower right; the rest is filled with white. Mondrian painted Composition II in 1930 in Paris, in the mature phase of Neoplasticism, reducing painting to the primary colours, black, white, and verticals and horizontals. The painting became one of the most frequently quoted emblems of 20th-century art. It is in the Kunsthaus Zürich.
