A print of “Takiyasha the Witch and the Skeleton Spectre” by Utagawa Kuniyoshi on your wall
A huge skeleton leaning through the ruins of a palace, warriors in armour and a witch with a magic scroll - this is Japanese graphic art that catches the eye like a frame from a manga. Kuniyoshi designed the picture as a wide triptych, so a print of Takiyasha the Witch and the Skeleton Spectre fills a long wall perfectly: above a sofa, in a corridor, in a tattoo studio or a gamer's room. The palette of black, ivory, indigo and accents of red combines superbly with Japandi, industrial and dark, moody interiors. On Dibond it keeps the character of a woodblock with crisp lines, while 5 mm acrylic glass gives a deep, velvety black. You can order a crop of just the skeleton's skull in a square format or the whole panorama as wallpaper. Wall art for fans of Japan, horror and graphic art. The dimensions are up to you - enter them in the artMonte configurator.

Takiyasha the Witch and the Skeleton Spectre
About the artwork
Takiyasha the Witch and the Skeleton Spectre is a woodblock triptych in which a gigantic skeleton emerges from the ruins of an old palace, summoned by the witch-princess Takiyasha against the warriors. Utagawa Kuniyoshi created it around 1844, drawing on the legend of the daughter of the rebel Taira no Masakado. The monumental, anatomically precise figure of the skeleton breaks across the division into three sheets, creating a single dramatic scene. The work is among the most famous examples of Japanese ukiyo-e on supernatural themes.
