A print of “Indian Summer (Babie lato)” by Józef Chełmoński on your wall
The gold of September grass, the light blue of the sky and a girl gazing at a silver thread - Chełmoński's Indian Summer brings the calm of late summer into the home. A print of Indian Summer suits a bedroom or living room in warm beiges, interiors with pale wood, linen and wicker, and a guesthouse or study where guests are meant to unwind. We recommend a horizontal format close to the proportions of the original, which keeps the whole landscape; for a large wall above a bed a wider crop with the panorama of the meadow works well. Dispa board is a light, eco-friendly choice for a bedroom, and matt Dibond conveys the softness of Chełmoński's brush without reflections. We will prepare Chełmoński wall art in any size - enter the dimensions in the artMonte configurator and we will cut the print exactly for your spot.

Indian Summer (Babie lato)
About the artwork
On a wide autumn meadow lies a young country girl, gazing at a thread of gossamer she holds in her raised hand; beside her a black dog keeps watch, and in the distance cows graze. Chełmoński painted the picture in 1875 in Warsaw, recalling his wanderings in Ukraine. Warsaw critics at the time reproached him for the "dirty feet" of the barefoot shepherdess, but today it is one of the most lyrical canvases of Polish Realism, a celebration of a captured moment and of the Polish landscape.
