A print of “Breezing Up (A Fair Wind)” by Winslow Homer on your wall
A heeling sail, white foam on the crests of the waves and three boys holding on to the gunwale with relaxed self-assurance. Homer's Breezing Up is cheerful wall art for a child's or teenager's room, a kitchen-diner, a summer cottage and a seaside hotel room where the guest should feel on holiday. White, blue and sandy beige go well with pale wood furniture, mist-coloured walls and fabrics in nautical stripes. The original's proportion is roughly 3:2, so we recommend a classic horizontal crop in 90 x 60 or 120 x 80 cm. A print of the Winslow Homer painting on 5 mm acrylic glass takes on the freshness and shine of a wet deck, while on light PVC board it becomes a convenient option wherever pictures are often rehung. In the artMonte configurator you enter any dimension and receive a print fitted to a specific spot.

Breezing Up (A Fair Wind)
About the artwork
A man and three boys sail a small catboat named Gloucester, heeling under the press of the wind; one of the boys holds the tiller, and a schooner is visible in the background. Winslow Homer began the painting in the summer of 1873 in Gloucester, Massachusetts, and finished it after several years of revisions. He exhibited it at the National Academy of Design in 1876, in the centenary year of American independence; the canvas quickly became a symbol of American optimism. It belongs to the National Gallery of Art in Washington.
