Ferdynand Ruszczyc

Polish painter, graphic artist and stage designer, a pupil of Shishkin and Kuindzhi in St Petersburg and the leading landscapist of Young Poland. His monumental landscapes of Bohdanów combine realism with symbolic pathos, and after 1919 he co-founded the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Vilnius.
